Founder, Cody Jackson, got his big “break” when one of his high school teachers approached him as a freshman and asked if he would like to enter the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Hesitantly, he agreed. After a week of working together, his personal essay was submitted. Not long after that, he found out he had placed nationally and had the opportunity to fly to New York City and receive a medal at Carnegie Hall. It was at Carnegie Hall that Cody felt he could do anything he put his mind to.
A teacher gave him the confidence he needed to be able to write. At Stitch Writing, we want to give back by helping instill confidence in writing. That’s why we’ve started two initiatives to give back to the community.

By submitting your piece, whether it be poetry, essay, short story, a chapter from a book, or limerick, you’ll have the opportunity to be featured on our site.
Each month, we’ll be selecting our favorites and featuring them on the website and blog. We’ll even tout you on social media! That way, you can get the word out about yourself.
